Though Gov. Mario M. Cuomo was removed from the grind of politics in Albany, he could not escape political topics Monday during an orchestrated 90-minute visit to the New York State Fair.
Try as he might, Cuomo found himself talking about the state's economic progress during a ceremonial signing of the Omnibus Economic Development Act of 1987 and about the importance of agriculture to the state economy as he helped dedicate the renovated Dairy Products Building on the fairgrounds.
