NSW: Rivkin Report will be unaffected by dealing ban: son

SYDNEY, Feb 19 AAP - The suspension of jailed stockbroker Rene Rivkin's dealer's licence
for six months would not affect his published guide to the stock market, his son said
today.

Australia's financial watchdog this week suspended Rivkin's dealer's licence and banned
him from giving investment advice for six months on the basis he was "not in a fit state".

Rivkin had been citing various medical conditions to avoid his nine-month weekend detention
sentence for insider trading, but resumed his sentence two weekends ago.

Rivkin's son and Rivkin Report editor, Jordan Rivkin, said the investment adviser's
licence to produce the Rivkin Report was held by a company, Tarfaya Nominee (Nominee),
so his father's suspension did not impact on the report's production.

"Our subscribers can rest assured that the future of the Rivkin Report is secure and
they will continue to receive quality service and advice on finding profitable stock recommendations,"

Mr Rivkin said.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission this week decided that evidence
about Rivkin's medical conditions meant he was "not in a fit state or capable of performing
the duties of the holder of a dealers licence in a competent and adequate manner".

Jordan Rivkin said he, rather than his father, had edited the report for six years.
