INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCIES SUPPORT CUBAN DEVELOPMENT ON EDUCATION

According to ACN: Cuba is putting into practice severaleducational projects on the quality of education, the access totechnologies, environmental culture, sexuality, and gender equality,with the support of international cooperation agencies.Representatives from these agencies attending the InternationalCongress on Pedagogy 2011that concludes on Friday in Havana talkedabout the benefits that the Cuban education system receives throughcommunity programs, scholarships, technical assistance, financialaid, and academic cooperation. The Cuban first vice minister ofEducation, Cira Pi?ero, noted that the reconstruction of the schoolsdamaged by natural disasters in 2008, the training of the teachingstaff, and the support of the program for internet access and theimplementation of new technologies, are some of the achievements onthe field. Pi?ero explained that this cooperation program worksthroughout the country, even though it gives priority to the easternpart given its development rates.
