NSW: Tamworth Country Music Festival kicks off with free concert

TAMWORTH, NSW, Jan 17 AAP - Australian country music stars Lee Kernaghan and Sara Storerhave officially opened the Tamworth Country Music Festival with a free open air concert.

About 12,000 spectators packed into Bicentennial Park on the edge of the Peel Riverto celebrate the opening of the festival - now in its 31st year.

Festival organiser June Smythe said the concert was designed to give the thousandsof fans who made the trip to Tamworth a taste of what to expect over the next 11 days.
