NSW:Man charged with stabbing woman in stomach

SYDNEY, Dec 30 AAP - A man has been charged with reckless wounding after a woman was
stabbed in the stomach in Sydney's southwest.

Police and paramedics were called to a unit on Harrison Street in Ashcroft about 9.30pm
(AEDT) on Wednesday and found a 30-year-old woman with a stab wound.

She was taken to hospital where she was in a serious but stable condition on Friday morning.

About 7pm (AEDT) on Friday, police arrested a 38-year-old man and charged him with
reckless wounding breach of an apprehended violence order.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
